Asana, Anatomy and Biomechanics: 1st Module 300hr Teacher Training

March 18, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - March 20, 2022 @ 3:00 pm

$350

Hosted by Seattle Yoga Arts: 300-hr Yoga Teacher Training

Join Ellie Rose and Chiara Guerrieri for this dynamic, live online and in-person, 14-hour training weekend that will help infuse your teaching practice with deepened awareness, increased understanding, and greater fluency.

A fundamental understanding of anatomy and kinesiology allows us to explore the wonders and mysteries of the body with precision and discernment. It helps us to not only refine and adapt postures to enhance the overall health of our students but also build trust and confidence in the student/teacher relationship. The goal is learning to remain within our scope of practice, knowing where the role of the yoga teacher ends and when we should recommend a student to a healthcare provider.

Through intelligent understanding of form, sound biomechanics, and a workable knowledge of anatomy, we will explore making the asana practice accessible to all who wish to benefit from the gifts of yoga and take your teaching to a whole new level.

You will:

– Gain a thorough and comprehensive understanding of SYA’s foundational yoga alignment principles
– Experience a heart-centered, specific, and articulate five-step process that will guide your students into healthy alignment, increased function, and injury management and prevention
– Improve your awareness of your body and feel freer in your personal practice
– Refine your ability to demonstrate key postural actions to your students
– Up-level your verbal cueing skills while boosting your confidence and effectiveness
– Understand your role as a yoga teacher and gain confidence offering guidance and direction to your students
– Learn how to ‘see’ your students’ bodies and help them refine their form
– Learn how yoga positively affects the systems of the body
– Learn to work with injuries, contraindications, and challenges through effective adaptation and attention to postural form so that you can empower your students and help them cultivate greater sovereignty in their practice.

Cost: before March 6th $295; after March 7th $350
