The experience

The Reality on the Ground

Cuba is currently navigating one of the most challenging periods in its modern history. Everyday Cubans face severe economic hardships, resource shortages, and systemic strain. As mindful travelers, we choose to meet it with open hearts, deep empathy, and a commitment to solidarity. Amidst these immense hardships, the spirit, ingenuity, and cultural resilience of the Cuban people remain entirely undiminished—expressed through a vibrant sense of community, shared laughter, and an inspiring capacity for joy.

What makes it special

An Immersive Experience

Engage in Solidarity

Stay in casas particulares (private, family-run homes) and share stories with local families. We will support independent creators, chefs, and community projects, ensuring our economic impact directly benefits everyday Cuban neighborhoods.

Discover Joy & Play

Immerse ourselves in the vibrant, soul-stirring energy of Havana. We will witness how music, dance, street art, and spontaneous play are not just entertainment, but vital lifelines of celebration, connection, and survival.

Practice Presence

Hold space for collective reflection, mindfulness, and dialogue as we process the complex intersections of history, politics, and human resilience, learning from a culture that fiercely protects its sense of community and warmth.

7 days, 8 nights in Old Havana

Our Home Base: La Habana Vieja

We are stationed right in the heart of Old Havana, where the opportunities for walking exploration are endless. In 1982, this historic neighborhood was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List due to its unique Baroque and neoclassical architecture, its imposing fortifications, and its immense historical importance as a stop on the maritime route to the New World. Staying here allows us to walk through living history every single day.

Who This Is For

If you are looking for an isolated tourist resort, this trip is not for you. This journey is crafted for those who want to practice deep listening, celebrate incredible human strength, and explore how mindfulness, social justice, and collective joy intersect in a truly profound global setting.

About our lodging

Casas Particulares

We stay in private, family-run homes — casas particulares — right in the heart of Old Havana. This is intentional: your dollars go directly to Cuban families, and you gain an intimate window into daily life that no hotel can offer.

Casas particulares are double occupancy and will all be located close to the Spanish school where we eat, dance, learn, and gather. Lodging in dorm-style rooms also available for a lower rate.

Havana is full of stairs: steep, windy, uneven stairs. We will have access to one or two accessible lodging rooms, but the whole of Havana features rough, intriguing pathways and compelling staircases.

We believe in transparency and community solidarity. Our financial structure ensures fair compensation for our local hosts, guides, and project leaders while keeping the journey as communal and accessible as possible.
